A WOMAN AFTER GOD'S HEART

A woman after God's heart is the one whose heart is completely devoted to God. A closer look at Mary, a woman who sat at Jesus' feet and received his praise, further opens up for us the meaning of a heart devoted to God. Luke 10:38-42

Mary, a woman after God's heart made the choice that indicated her heart's devotion: she knew it was important to ease her busyness, stop all activity, and set aside secondary things in order to focus wholly on the Lord. A woman after God's heart fulfills God's priorities which are:

HER HUSBAND

A woman after God's heart is a woman who carefully cultivates a servant spirit, whether she is married or not. And if you are a married woman, that attitude and service starts at home with your family more specifically, with your husband. God wants us wives to focus our energy and efforts on our husbands.

A woman after God's heart is a woman who cultivates a submissive spirit. Submission is primarily a military term meaning to rank oneself under someone else. This heart attitude is lived out by leaving things to the judgment of another person and yielding or deferring to the opinion of someone else. Ephesians 5:22

God arranged for the sake of order that the husband lead and the wife follow. For marriages to run smoothly, God has said, "The head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God". 1 Corinthians 11:3

HER CHILDREN

A woman after God's heart values being a mother and she is first and foremost a woman who has in her own heart a deep and abiding passion for God's word. And her children are the first to receive the first fruit of this burning personal passion, not her friend, her neighbors, or anyone else. Proverbs 1:8; 6:20. We as moms can do many things for our children, but teaching God's word must be our passion.

HER HOME

A woman after God's heart makes a house a home. "A wise woman builds her house". Proverbs 14:1 "To build means, to make and to set up a house- and this verse refers not only to the structure and upkeep of the home, but also to the family itself. A home is not only a place- it's also people.

And who is responsible for the quality of life in that place where the family lives? The woman!

She sets the mood and maintains the atmosphere inside the home.

HERSELF

A woman after God's heart has a heart that is enriched by Joy in the Lord.Ephesians 3:19 Such woman is probably involved in and committed to spiritual growth. She has spent time with God and has been filled by him, so when she's in public, she can't help but share her love for Jesus. She can't help but share the Joy of knowing him and walking with him.This enables her to offer a ministry of refreshment to other people.
